Special emphasis is placed on ease of use: Users can move through the newly designed menu system with its intuitive icons using a central 5-way navigation key (four direction keys plus middle key) on the handsets. Metal dome key technology with its clear pressure point gives a completely new feel. Ideal legibility is ensured by the large TFT QVGA color display with 256,000 colors (240 x 320 pixels).
In addition, both phones offer excellent sound quality even when used in full-duplex handsfree mode. If desired, users can also mute the phones and define VIP users. When the latter call, an acoustic signal is emitted despite the fact that the phone is muted. The two models also captured an "IF communication design award 2008" for their ease of use functionality.
All contacts under control:
To enable efficient contact management, the Gigaset SL780 and SL785 have a large address book, offering space for up to 500 entries in the vCard format. Thanks to the Gigaset QuickSync software, data can easily be synchronized with a PC (Microsoft Outlook) via the supplied mini-USB cable or Bluetooth. The new phones' handset also has a calendar so that one can keep track of all their important appointments. The integrated answering machine in the Gigaset SL785 can record up to 45 minutes of messages.
Environmentally-friendly and miserly with energy:
The Siemens Gigasets SL780 and SL785 are equipped with cutting-edge ECO technology and have an energy-saving power supply that consumes up to 60% less electricity than conventional phones. In addition, energy can be saved in the ECO mode, which cuts transmitting power by 80% during calls. And with the aid of the new ECO mode Plus, transmitting power is shut off completely in standby and recharging mode and only reactivated when a call is received or made.
Future-proof and expandable:
To make sure they are always up-to-date, the Gigaset SL780 and SL785 offer a simple means of updating their software or adding functions via the Internet. In conjunction with a Gigaset IP base station, broadband voice transport via HDSP (High Definition Sound Performance) is supported. The base stations of the new Gigasets can operate with up to six handsets. If desired, cordless Bluetooth headsets can be registered or headphones with a Slim Lumberg jack used. Both phones can also be combined with the Gigaset HC450 intercom.
