The MoU represents ZonesCorp and ESMA's joint role in supporting the national economy and contributing to the development of industrial establishments in the Emirate. The two parties aim to support the sector by increasing its competitiveness through the standardization of quality and performance management. As ZonesCorp takes the lead in creating the most attractive environment for industrial investment through the promotion of the Emirate's industrial projects, ESMA plays a strategic role in implementing the highest standards and benchmarks, qualifying local products to compete in the global marketplace.
Speaking at the ceremony, Al Khaili said,
"Today ZonesCorp has taken a step in accordance with its strategy for increasing cooperation with governmental authorities in order to upgrade services for the industrial sector. We are honored to be signing this MoU with our new partners at ESMA. This marks a milestone for us, helping to ensure the quality of Abu Dhabi's industrial performance and by-products. Our partnership with ESMA will allow us to comply and keep pace with ever-changing global standards for quality management and regulations. We look forward to a strong and ongoing partnership with ESMA. Our efforts through this initiative underline our dedication and commitment to all our tenants. Abiding by these new international quality standards will place them on equal footing with local, regional and international peers, helping them remain competitive in their respective industries."
Al Mansouri noted that the signing of the MoU with ZonesCorp would provide several facilities through which industrial businesses would be granted the quality mark from ESMA. "The cooperation between our two organizations will make all technical information serving Abu Dhabi's industrial sector available. ESMA has published more than four thousand standard specifications in the UAE, and our quality mark and certificates, as well as our training programs, will help expand the platform of specialized persons in the fields of quality management, environmental management and professional safety," he said.
The MoU will allow industrial businesses in Abu Dhabi access to a broad range of technical information based on international specifications and standards. This will include specifications for logistics standards required during construction, storage conditions, transportation of foodstuff, hazardous items and raw materials, as well as disinfection and sterilization methods. Moreover, the standards will be applied to employee safety and injury prevention for industrial factories.
Both ZonesCorp and ESMA aim to develop their partnership and work together to apply international standards and technical regulations to the local industrial marketplace. Jointly, the two organizations will represent the UAE in regional and international conferences, seminars and committees.
