UAE Ministry of Foreign Trade appoints new directors to boost institutional performance of departments

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Trade has announced the appointment of new directors in a number of its key departments, in a move to develop and strengthen the Ministry's institutional performance.

The Ministry focused in particular on departments handling international relations, strategic planning, and the development of trade policy and human resources management.

The Ministry appointed Ali Mohsen Al Hamli, who holds an MBA from the UK and a BAS from the US, as Director of the Department of International Organizations Management. Kamal Salem Al Yamahi, meanwhile, was assigned as Director of the Department of Strategic Planning and Performance.

Al Yamahi holds a Master's degree in International Business from the University of Wollongong in Dubai and a Bachelor's degree in geography from Beirut Arab University. Al Yamahi worked as a senior administrative official in the municipality of Abu Dhabi and as an engineer for the National Petroleum Construction Company.

The Ministry also appointed Sultan Ahmed Darwish as Director of the Department of Trade Policy. Darwish holds a bachelor's degree in Public Administration from the UAE University, and is accredited within the World Customs Organization Capacity Building strategy.

He has also received certificates in 35 specialized courses in various areas such as marketing, performance management, budget analysis, and risk management. Mohamed Hassan Al Kamali was designated as Director of the Department of Human Resources and Finance.

Kamali holds a bachelor's degree in mass communications from the UAE University, and worked for various bodies such as the Federal National Council, the Ministry of the Interior and the Department of Culture and Information in Sharjah. He also lectured at the UAE University and has been nominated in many national leadership programs.

"The new appointments are part of Ministry efforts to enhance institutional performance throughout its various departments, and are in line with the government's plan of increasing efficiency in government institutions through the inclusion of persons with extensive expertise and competencies who can realize positive change. The new directors were chosen due to their experience in various administrative areas, which will raise the level of performance in a number of the Ministry's vital departments," said H.E. Abdullah Al Saleh, Director General, UAE Ministry of Foreign Trade.
