Winner of the 2007 and 2008 Dubai Lynx TV/Cinema Grand Prix, as well as two Silver trophies in the same category last year, Cairo-based Melody Entertainment is Egypt's only, and one of the Middle East's largest, fully integrated entertainment media conglomerates that includes television stations, radio stations, music and film production, digital and physical content distribution and artist management.
"Dubai Lynx is all about the celebration of great creative work in advertising and communications. Melody Entertainment has demonstrated its creative spirit by continuing to build its brand through innovative advertising which will no doubt inspire other marketers to follow suit. We are delighted to award Melody with this important award" said Philip Thomas, Festival CEO.
"It is a privilege for us to be acknowledged by such a prestigious entity,"
said Mr Gamal Marwan, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Melody Entertainment Ltd.
"We have always prided ourselves on the creative freedom we apply to our products in general, but to be acknowledged for this is an honour as well as an indication that our efforts have not gone unrewarded. It is also an indication that the relation between the client and the advertising agency is integral to delivering the message to the viewer who has become a very demanding and educated critic." Gamal Marwan will be present to collect the award during the Dubai Lynx Awards Ceremony next month.
Founded in 2002, Melody covers almost all the functions necessary to provide high quality entertainment to the masses in addition to customised personalised services. Melody's range of services starts upstream with producing its own content, managing its own portfolio of artists and creative minds, going downstream to the viewer's home over TV, Internet and even mobile.
Another new award, Media Agency of the Year, will be presented to the agency that obtains the highest score for entries in the Media section. As with Agency of the Year, the calculation will be based on all of the awards won by an agency, but will include a maximum of 10 points for shortlisted entries.
The winner of this new award will be revealed on the evening of Tuesday 17 March at the Dubai Lynx Awards Ceremony. Other special awards include Agency of the Year (TV/Cinema, Print, Outdoor and Radio) and Advertising Person of the Year.
In a partnership between Dubai Lynx and the Berlin School of Creative Leadership any Creative Director winning a gold Dubai Lynx award this year will be eligible to apply for the Berlin School for Creative Leadership bursary. Creative Directors will submit their thesis ideas and from this the faculty of the Berlin School will award a bursary.
The Berlin School of Creative Leadership was established to meet the rising demand for effective creative leadership by providing specialised leadership education for senior executives in media, entertainment, advertising, design, journalism and marketing.
