- United Arab Emirates: Thursday, February 19 - 2009 at 12:38
- PRESS RELEASE
With many parents still struggling to find places for their children in the over-subscribed Dubai schools, each year, an increasing number of students are choosing to attend overseas boarding schools.
Haberdashers' Monmouth School for Girls is a place of exceptional opportunity. The School enjoys an outstanding academic reputation with first class facilities, such as a sixth form centre, science laboratories, music rehearsal and recording studio, indoor pool, sports hall and all-weather pitch.
Similarly, Monmouth School provides excellent opportunities for boys who enter the senior school as day pupils or boarders. The School is nationally renowned for its sporting and musical achievements as well as its high academic standards.
Integral to the richness of life at the Schools is their boarding communities, with a busy programme of after-school and weekend activities. Students take full advantage of the superb facilities and participate in a large number of extra-curricular activities as well as a range of national and international trips every year.
Set in a designated 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' in the Wye Valley but with easy access to airports and stations. The Schools blend the best traditions of Welsh and English education to provide academic excellence, coupled with outstanding opportunities for sport, music, drama, CCF, Duke of Edinburgh and a host of other extra-curricular activities.
The Schools offer the 'best of both worlds' with all the advantages of single sex education but with a co-ordinated Sixth Form timetable, offering a choice of over 30 AS/A levels and joint boarding activities after-school and at weekends.
"There are currently 7 expatriate families who are based in the UAE at the Schools. We pride ourselves on the care and attention we take of all our pupils but most particularly the ones from overseas, where we help to arrange transport to and from the airport and work hard to ensure we have regular contact with parents to keep them fully informed of all aspects of their child's progress" said Sarah Lee, director of marketing & PR, Haberdashers' Monmouth Schools.
