DTCM promotes Dubai in Turkey

The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing utilized its eight successive year participation in the East Mediterranean International Travel and Tourism Exhibition (EMITT-2009) in Istanbul to promote and market the emirate as a leisure and business destination in the East Mediterranean markets which are emerging as a promising market for Dubai's tourism industry.

Ali Abdul Wahab, Senior Executive Overseas Promotions, represented the DTCM at the four-day show, held at the Tuyap Exhibition Centre. Among the VIPs at the stand was Mr. Eisa Abdullah Al Kalbani, UAE Consul General in Istanbul.

The Dubai Stand, measuring 169-square-metre, attracted 12 co-participations from the emirate's tourism industry. The show, among the world's top ten tourism fairs, attracted more than 40,000 trade visitors and general public from over 50 countries this year.

The bilateral relations between Turkey and Dubai have been growing strong, with 44 flights per week operated by four airlines, including the Dubai government-owned Emirates Airlines.
