Chrysler spares Mideast in layoffs

Chrysler's mass layoffs worldwide will not involve the Middle East, The National has reported. Thomas Hausch, the Chrysler vice president of international sales, said he did not expect job cuts in the immediate future, but he could not rule out layoffs in the future, and said there was a general hiring freeze for the car company's international operations, with some exceptions. The company employs 20 people at their administrative office in the UAE, which serves as the hub for the region.
