The first ever all Arab fashion event to take place in Europe under the title: Arabian Fashion World

The one-day fashion showcase will be held on April 6th 2009 in association with the Arab British Chamber of Commerce, and will feature five Arab designers that include Amina Al Jassim, from Saudi Arabia, Abed Mahfouz from Lebanon, Rabia Z from the United Arab Emirates, Samira Haddouchi from Morocco and British/Jordanian, Omar Kashoura.

The Arab fashion industry is a fast emerging global business with highly talented designers such as Elie Saab taking the world stage.

On April 6th, the five designers will stage a fashion show produced by Lesley Gor ing in InterContinental's stunning ballroom with up to 20 Arab fashion accessory companies taking stands and displaying their creations from jewellery, handbags, to cosmetics.

There will be an invited audience of 400 guests that will include Ambassadors, celebrities,
British and Arab media, fashion buyers and VIPs.
The organisers intend to make Arabian Fashion World a three-day annual event at InterContinental London Park Lane from 2010.

Arabian Fashion World is in partnership with Arab British Chamber of Commerce.

The role of Arab British Chamber of Commerce (whose headquarters are in London) is to promote trade and business between Britain and the Arab nations.

Dr Afnan Al -Shuaiby, Secretary General and Chief Executive of the Arab British Chamber of Commerce will open Arabian Fashion World.

Designer 's background notes:
Amina Al Jassim a leading name in the Middle East fashion industry, Ms Al Jassim launched her namesake label in 1984 with jalabayas and abayas that she had designed for herself. Within four years of her debut, Amina Al Jassim had a presence in three Saudi Arabian cities. Amina regularly shows her creations in fashion shows across the Middle East.

Abed Mahfouz entered the international fashion industry with his haute couture evening attires and wedding dresses. Abed earned praise from his regular participation in the international fashion week in Rome, also known as Altaroma Altamoda.

Rabia Z debuted her collection in 2007 at the Dubai International Fashion Week, winning the "Emerging Talent Competition". Rabia also won the UAE, GCC, & MED "International Young Fashion Entrepreneur of the Year 2008" award, organised by the British Council.

Omar Kashoura is a London based menswear designer of Jordanian and English descent, who graduated in 2004 with first class honors from the London College of Fashion. Omar Kashoura has won Best International Menswear Designer at New York's Gen
Art Style International 2005 Menswear award. Omar has also won the prestigious Deutsche Bank Pyramid Award in 2008.

Sami ra Haddouchi from Morocco is a firm favourite with Middle Eastern Royalty and celebrities with her stunning designs. Samira is specializing in designing Moroccon caftans. Her famous caftan designed for Lebanese singer Haifa Wehbe has appeared on the cover of numerous women's magazines and newspapers, and actress Susan Sarandon proudly displayed the garment at the 6th Marrakech International Film Festival.

L'Oreal's international Ambassador, Royston Blythe and his team of hair and make-up stylists will create the hair and make up designs for the show.
