Jacky's Electronics wins its first DSF Innovation Award

Jacky's Electronics received the accolade from His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Shopping Festival Office (DSFO) Supreme Committee, during the festival's closing ceremony held at the Four Season's Club, Dubai Festival City. Judging for the awards was based on an extensive Mystery Shopping exercise conducted by the DSF Committee across Dubai.

During the Shopping Festival, consumer electronics products such as notebooks, mobile phones, digital cameras and LCD TVs experienced the highest level of demand across all Jacky's outlets. Digital and gaming products came in as the second most popular category.

Patel predicts that consumer electronics and IT products will show resilience despite the economic slowdown this year.

"This sector will continue to generate and sustain demand for certain categories such as notebooks, mobiles, digital products and LCD TVs for the coming months. Jacky's is optimistic that sales in these categories will not experience immediate major deceleration in sales for the year," he said.

The DSF Innovation Awards are held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council. For 2009, the Award underwent dynamic changes with novel judging criteria and better incentives for winning retailers. A new and objective evaluation module was also designed and implemented for each award category this year.
