Wissam Razzouk, Delta's commercial manager for Kuwait said:
"Operating service between the U.S. and the Middle East is a key part of Delta's network strategy. Since we launched our flight to Atlanta on 8 November last year, we have seen a very positive response from our customers. The convenience of our schedule and the hundreds of connections we offer via our Atlanta hub make Delta an excellent choice for both business and leisure passengers with Houston, Orlando, Dallas and Columbus proving to be popular destinations. A late departure from Kuwait means business travellers can do a full day's work in Kuwait then arrive comfortably in time for a lunch appointment in many U.S. cities the next day."
Delta Air Lines is the leading U.S. carrier to the Middle East and also operates nonstop service between Dubai and Atlanta and Amman and New York's JFK airport. Delta increased capacity on its non-stop Dubai to Atlanta route to offer a daily service from 1 October last year.
Danita Waterfall-Brizzi, Delta's director for Cargo Middle East said: "Thanks to Kuwait's importance as a transfer hub, Delta's service is providing an extra channel for export to the United States from the Middle East, India and Pakistan for shipments of commodities including textiles and pharmaceuticals."
Delta's nonstop flight between Kuwait and Atlanta is operated using a Boeing 777-200ER aircraft seating up to 268 passengers. Customers travelling in Delta's award-winning BusinessElite service enjoy all-leather sleeper seats with 60 inches of legroom, innovative food offerings designed by celebrity chef Michelle Bernstein, on-demand personal in-seat entertainment, as well as upgraded pillow, duvet cover and amenity kit.
Economy class customers also enjoy all-leather economy seats, on-demand video, amenity kits and enhanced food offerings. On flights to and from Kuwait, Delta's service also features Arabic-speaking flight attendants, in-flight movies with Arabic subtitles, as well as Halal meal options in BusinessElite and Middle Eastern selections in economy.
