While the 'Graduate Trainee Programme' targets university and college graduates, the 'Ajial' initiative is aimed at high-school graduates.
Jassem Al Jassmi, Acting Head of Human Resources, wasl, said:
"Our goal is to ensure wasl continues to provide individuals with higher exposure to advanced training initiatives for capacity building, while preparing the trainees for more challenging mandates in the future. As we look to expand our business, the development of human resources, especially indigenous talent, gains top priority."
"Ajial and the Graduate Trainee Programme are meticulously designed to support the professional development of Emiratis and grooming them for future leadership roles. Through these programmes, we aim to create a broad talent pool in the region, which in turn will not only contribute to the UAE's growth, but also the development of the asset management and real estate sectors in general."
The training programmes prioritise the development of communication and presentation skills, an understanding of cultural differences, business etiquette and ethics, as well as customer focus, team building, time management and planning, decision making, and management skills.
Ajial is an intensive six-month programme that will allow high-school graduates to deepen their understanding of the asset management and real estate sectors. It will cover the technical, developmental and practical aspects of on-the-job training. Apart from a sharp focus on technical areas, Ajial seeks to build on achievement orientation, customer service orientation, interpersonal skills and other related capabilities critical to achieving success in a modern business organisation.
The Graduate Trainee Programme, on the other hand, focuses on the development of leadership and management skills of Emiratis looking forward to shape a career for themselves. Its curriculum has been designed to meet the demanding market conditions, as well as help fulfill young professionals' career aspirations.
The second batch of the 'Graduate Trainee Programme' commencing in April this year will focus on developing students specialized in the field of engineering, information technology, architecture, finance and business administration.
