Yahsat launches 'YahSecure', highly secure satellite service

Abu Dhabi Al Yah Satellite Communications Company PrJsc (Yahsat) a wholly owned subsidiary of Mubadala Development Company (Mubadala) to provide 'YahSecure', the highly secure and reliable satellite communications service to military, government agencies and mission-critical commercial applications.

The service will cover Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Yahsat is the first satellite operator in the region to provide secure satellite service on the Ka band.

"YahSecure will address the satellite communications requirements of government and military of the region. It will cater to diverse customer segments including armed forces, border control, coast guards, embassy networks, government agencies by providing breach proof encryption services and robust levels of security for mission-critical applications," said Jassem Al Zaabi, CEO of Yahsat.

YahSecure offers highly reliable and secure links with regional coverage through Yahsat's Ka band satellite capacity for a range of applications. The steerable Ka band beams help to quickly address changing requirements. Additionally there will be back-up networks for disaster recovery and secure communication networks for government applications.

Yahsat signed an agreement with the UAE Armed Forces in early 2008 to provide secure satellite communications in the UAE. The UAE Armed Forces will lease satellite capacity on both Yahsat satellites.

Yahsat will be exhibiting their satellite communications capabilities during IDEX at the Mubadala stand in hall 4.
