Setting the tone for the show, Hany El Behairy will open the daily fashion shows on the inaugural day of the fair, enthralling his audience with his superbly refined designs.
Hany, who hails from Egypt, appeals to his audience with his "original" touch of elegance, which he exquisitely portrays in everything he envisages. He is renowned for using his palette to blend colours, patterns and prints of nature's most beautiful elements.
Hany is a fashion designer of repute not only in the Arab world; he has also won recognition the world over, most notably in Italy. For the past 15 years, Hany has been capturing the true essence of sensibility and feminity through his designs.
The fashion shows are targeted at soon-to-be married women, who want to be princesses at least for a day. They can get a sneak peak of latest designs and trends in wedding clothes and prepare for their special day in royal style.
The daily fashion shows will also feature exclusive dress and latest designs for 2009 from well-known retailers and brands such as Moshgan, Amato, Hanayen, Abu Heleeqa and Red Roses. Apart from wedding clothes, abayas, sheilas and evening clothes will vie for the attention of visitors.
A wide range of perfumes, ouds, cosmetics and jewellery will also be available so that everything needed to make the wedding day special can be purchased at a single venue. Other products that will be on display include gifts and accessories, health and beauty products, cards and stationery, and related materials and services.
"Nearly 100 exhibitors from Lebanon, Syria, Italy, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, India, Pakistan and the UAE will display every imaginable merchandise and expertise that goes into making any wedding a memorable one,"
said Mr Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, Director-General of Expo Centre Sharjah.
"Designers, couturiers, men's outfitters, flower and décor specialists, wedding planners and caterers will offer their services, while there will be a host of options regarding wedding and reception venues, photography, entertainment options and honeymoon destinations," Mr Midfa added.
A major highlight of the show will be daily cultural wedding parades.
Wedding traditions in the Arab world vary from one region to another and mirror the cultural diversity of the region. Visitors to the show will be able to get a glimpse of the various customs of traditions that are part of weddings in the region.
"Traditionally, weddings used to be organised mostly by family members and friends. Not any more," Mr Fasahat Ali Khan, Advisor to the Chairman and Board of Directors of Expo Centre Sharjah.
"The new generation, which has improved educational and career prospects, better financial exposure and a heightened sense of confidence, is in the forefront of fuelling demand for better arrangements that suit its upbringing and financial standing," said Mr Khan.
"They are looking for new products and ideas to make their wedding a memorable one. The Perfect Wedding Show will be their perfect one-stop shop for all their needs," added Mr Khan.
Adding glitz and glamour to the event will be a laser show by Technopro daily. Other added attractions will be live demonstrations of hair-styling and make-up, and live dance performances. Afrina saloon will be handling the entire make-up for models at the fashion show and other demonstrations as well.
The plenty of prizes and raffles draws for visitors are likely to attract large number of visitors.
The Perfect Wedding Show is an initiative of the Expo Centre Sharjah with the support of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
