The signing ceremony was held today at The International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) in Abu Dhabi, Mena region's largest defence exhibition and conference,

The agreement aims to capitalize on a global trend which started in 2007, when Europe, the Middle East and Africa outpaced outsourcing activities in the Americas in both total contract value and the number of contracts awarded for the first time. Injazat Data Systems and KBR will offer the regional market end-to-end solutions across various functions such as government infrastructure, secure government, project management, logistics, IT technology services, military outsourcing, and consultancy.

"The Middle East is emerging as an international outsourcing hub, a trend that is being accelerated by the rapid development of the region's related infrastructures. Our alliance with KBR allows us to combine our extensive outsourcing experience and expertise with KBR's global reputation and reach, so that we can more effectively meet the unique needs of the region's diverse and demanding outsourcing clients,"

said Ibrahim Mohamed Lari, CEO, Injazat Data Systems.

Injazat Data Systems and KBR have a comprehensive understanding of government and military requirements, currently providing commercial best practices to global defence and government markets. They are both prime contractors to the UK Ministry of Defence and the US Department of Defense on major national and international projects. IDEX offers a highly visible venue for the two companies to formalize their alliance, as the event will gather government officials and military personnel to source technology and equipment from over 900 of the world's top defence companies.

Injazat Data Systems is a joint venture between Mubadala and EDS, an HP company that founded the information technology outsourcing industry more than 46 years ago. Injazat Data Systems currently holds over 50% of the UAE's IT managed services market. Injazat Data Systems's announcement further demonstrates Mubadala forms alliances with local and international businesses to build a sustainable and commercial support system for the UAE and regional military. Injazat will soon launch its 6,600-sqm Tier IV data centre, the first facility of its kind outside of North America.

KBR is a global engineering, construction and services company supporting the energy, petrochemicals, government services and civil infrastructure sectors.
