Mr. K.W. Kim, CEO of LG Electronics Middle East and Africa Regional Company, said:
"With Life's Good When it's Green, we're focusing on environmentally sustainable solutions, developing Eco-Designs and distributing Eco-Products to help create a safer, cleaner world."
"We are committed to establishing clear operational accountability and creating products that not only enhance consumers' lives, but also encourage an environmentally responsible lifestyle," Kim added.
From his end, the Managing Director of LGE Levant, Mr. Kevin Cha said, "LGE hopes to promote healthier attitudes towards the environment, which is now a primary matter of a global concern in the 21st century. By implementing our company's eco-friendly strategy, we aim at reducing the environmental impact of our product's development, production, and circulation while improving efficiency of resources."
Recycling and energy efficiency were highlighted at this year's CES show which was held in Las Vegas 11-8 January. Key components of this initiative include: Eco-Design, Eco-Products, Management of Hazardous Materials, Recycling, Climate Change Policies, Eco-Supply Chain, and Environmental Safety and Communication.
These measures aim at achieving a number of long-term goals, such as making LGE products environmentally safe, resource- and energy-efficient. Moreover, LG Electronics has established several take-back programs and recycling facilities, allowing consumers to return end-of-life products. Such programs as the Eco-Supply require LG's vendors to also comply with national and international regulations. Another goal is to ensure that LG products are marked as either environmentally friendly or energy-saving products, guaranteeing that customers are positively aware of the aspect of environmental safety in LG products.
