Ajman Sewerage about to complete the installation of the new sewerage network
- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, February 24 - 2009 at 09:07
- PRESS RELEASE
Ajman Sewerage (Private) Company Limited announced the imminent end of the works concerning the laying of lines and pipes for the first phase of the sewerage network in the Emirate of Ajman.
The new sewerage system includes a sophisticated network which serves more than 75,000 homes and companies, located on 12,500 plots of land throughout Ajman's different areas. Its Wastewater Treatment Plant has the capacity to treat approximately 50,000 cubic meters of sewage daily.
Within the framework of the project for the installation of a new sewerage network for the Emirate, the Municipality had lately issued its Local Order no. 2 of 2009, in which it banned sewage tankers from pumping and transporting sewage water in the areas where a connection point to the Sewerage System had been provided.
The Ajman Municipality and Planning Department is urging the residents and property owners to connect their properties promptly to the new network on one hand while they simultaneously promote the civilized and sanitary image of the Emirate of Ajman on the other.
In line with this expected environmental regulation, Ajman Sewerage (Private) Company Limited is also urging the residents of the Emirate and the property owners to connect their properties (internal connection network) to the new sewerage system as soon as possible and benefit from these modern services.
This will eliminate the need for using tankers as well as definitively get rid of the bad odours which emanate when sewage waters are pumped through the traditional method. This will also have positive repercussions on the Emirate's public health, cleanliness and the environment in general.
Ajman Sewerage (Private) Company Limited has equipped all its Customer Service Centres throughout the Emirate to assist customers and all those concerned, so that formalities and steps may be explained and all inquiries answered. This will facilitate and speed up the connection with the network for the residents and property owners and avoid any problems or fines for failure to connect their properties on time.
Customers who require more information regarding the connection procedures can meet with specialized consultants who will provide the necessary help regarding the different subjects related to the sewerage system and the connection procedures that need to be performed.
All technical aspects will be taken care of by specialized teams who will attend to all field work involved in the connection to the main network of the project.
It is important to mention that Ajman Sewerage (Private) Company Limited was established in accordance with the Sewerage Law on the 1st of May 2002 by Sheikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Executive Council and Ruler of Ajman. This partnership between the Government of Ajman and prominent international experts from the private sector has contributed to the establishment of the first company of its kind and size in the region. ASPCL will also build, operate and maintain the sewerage network for a period of 27.5 years.
