Live to showcase world class high definition technology at Cabsat 2009

Attendees at Cabsat will be able to experience first hand Live's Al Thuraya vehicle, the flagship OB van of the Middle East's most advanced outside broadcast fleet, says Managing Director and CEO Abdul Hadi Al Sheikh.

"In just six months, Live has established itself as a pioneer in High Definition broadcasting with unmatched technological capabilities in the Middle East," continues Al Sheikh.

"Live, the only company with a fleet of full HD OB vans in the region, has broadcast the most exciting sporting and cultural events in the region to millions of viewers globally. Visitors to the region's leading digital media event can visit the Live booth at Zabeel Hall stall number ZY11 and experience the state-of-the-art HD technology of Al Thuraya's 16 cameras. The company's fleet of HDTV OB vans each carry between eight and sixteen cameras with features such as hydraulics, fire alarm systems, electric converters and environmentally-friendly air conditioning systems.

Live is the official producer of the UAE Football League, producing six matches every week, including coverage of six matches of the UFL Cup and one Challenge Cup match and has covered the following events in HD:
• The Million's Poet, which is one of the largest and most successful shows in the region.
• The Dubai Desert Classic Golf Tournament, in conjunction with ETP and CTV, in January 2009.
• The 2008 Middle East International Film Festival (MEIFF).
• The European Golf Tournament in Abu Dhabi, January 2009.
• The first Capitala International Tennis Championship in Abu Dhabi, January 2009.
• UAE National Day celebrations.
• The coproduction of the GCC Cup.
