Young Arab Leaders Bahrain set to host 'Unlocking Innovative Leadership'

Young Arab Leaders Bahrain is set to host a Power Speaker event next month, the first in Series of Power workshops, with the theme of Series 1 called "Unlocking Innovative Leadership" from 3rd to 5th March 2009.

Inaugurated by Shaikh Mohammed Bin Essa Al-Khalifa, Chairman of the Young Arab Leaders and the Chief Executive, Economic Development Board. The workshop is aimed at equipping leaders of tomorrow, to be both visionary and creative leaders of the future.

Commenting on the rationale behind the Workshop, Shaikh Mohammed bin Essa Al-Khalifa, Chairman of YAL Bahrain, said:
"With new strategies being adopted and innovative ideas being put into place, there is always room for improvement, not just within our own economies but also across the wider global economy."


Innovative Leadership aims to create excellent innovative strategies through visionary leadership. Leaders at all levels have a critical role to play in ensuring creativity; innovation and continuous improvement are among the core foundations of a company. These in turn, are vital to meet the challenges of an increasingly sophisticated and continually changing and competitive world.

This highly interactive Workshop will provide an opportunity, both to understand the strategic context of creativity and innovation and to develop the skills and attitudes needed to develop creative and innovative thinking.

The workshop aims to enable participants to
• Set creativity and innovation in a strategic context.
• Understand the drivers, for a greater emphasis in business on creativity and innovation.
• Identify the processes and activities which support creativity and innovation in organisations.
• Identify the strategies, tools and techniques to improve levels of creativity and innovation.
• Understand how the process of change can block or enable employees at all levels to resist or embrace a greater emphasis on creativity and innovation.
• Understand the crucial role and skills of the leader in creating an environment where creativity and innovation thrive.

Seminar Outline:



Day 1 - The New Capitalism: The Role of the Middle East in the World Economy. As a prelude to the workshop, CEOs from various organisations in Bahrain will be invited for an interactive session with Dr. Ghosh. The inauguration will be held on the eve of 3rd March at the Sheikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Centre for Culture and Research - Muharraq.

Day 2 and 3 are for nominated young professionals from organizations across Bahrain.

Day 2 - Strategic Problem Solving: Creating and Revitalising the Universe of Possibilities.

Day 3 - On Arts and Sciences of Becoming a Leader: Mastering the dynamics of 3PIs.

Dr. Partha Ghosh, the key note speaker at the workshop, based in Boston is a renowned Management and Policy Advisor. He is currently in an advisory role with multiple organisations and is known worldwide as a strategist and an innovator of Business and Economic models. Dr. Gosh holds two Master's Degrees in Chemical Engineering with emphasis on New Energy Systems & Biotechnologies, and Business Administration with concentrations in Finance, Information Technology, and International Business from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Additionally, Partha has a proven track record across various cultures both at macro and micro economic levels gained through extensive consulting engagements in the Americas, Asia, Australia, and Europe. As an inspiring public speaker and a compelling writer, He has delivered more than hundred key note addresses in significant leadership forums organized by prestigious universities, industry associations, and joint business councils in several nations, on a wide range of issues related to Strategic/Change management, Leadership, Future technologies, Global economy and socio economic advance'

The Young Arab Leaders (YAL), established in February 2004, is an independent pan-Arab organization aiming to galvanize 500 of the most accomplished, results-oriented individuals from the region who realize it is time to take a more active and responsible role in improving the state of the Arab world.
