AEEDC Dubai to launch its thirteenth edition next month with participation of 700 companies

Dr. Amer Al Sharif, Director of Continuous Education Department, Dubai Health Authority, in behalf of H. E. Qadhi Saeed Al Murooshid, Director General - Dubai Health Authority announced at a press conference held today at the Director General office of the Dubai Health care authority that preparations are at full swing for the only dental gathering in the Middle East region and North Africa.

The press conference was presided by Mr. Abdul Salam Al Madani -Executive Chairman - AEEDC Dubai and Dr. Nasser Malik - Chairman of the conference.

Dr. Amer Al Sharif, Director of Continuous Education Department, Dubai Health Authority, in behalf of H. E. Qadhi Saeed Al Murooshid, Director General, Dubai Health Authority declared that "The Government of the United Arab Emirates constantly supports and encourage the medical sector, particularly with regard to medical research. The Dubai Health Authority is keen to adopt the innovations of new and advanced medical technologies, and encourage all new innovations which add value to the medical sector in general and the dental sector in particular."

The event is organised by Index Conferences and Exhibitions and in cooperation with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), and in strategic partnership with Ministry of Interior Naturalization and Residency Administration - Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and supported by Charite University of Berlin, Riyadh College of Dentistry, Health Management and Dental Horizons. AEEDC Dubai has successfully ranked fifth world wide in dentistry and cosmetic dentistry, according to the International Dental Manufacturers.

The exhibition space is 20% bigger compared to last year, with an increase of 25% in number of exhibitors. We are also expecting more than 20,000 specialists from 113 country to attend and participate in AEEDC 2009."

AEEDC Dubai 2009 will also present a number of scientific activities during the three days conference; as it will host the third GCC Health Meeting, the Iraqi Course, the 6th Arab Asian Dental Scientific Meeting - AADSM, the Senior Dental Student Implant Course, AEEDC live surgery Clinic, the student competition, and the poster presentation. The organisers have transformed one of the conference halls into a live operation room, where specialist's surgeons will operate daily. There are also three halls at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre assigned for the workshops that will continue during the three days, forming a great opportunity for students to meet the specialists and learn form them.

Dr. Nasser Malik - The Conference Chairman said at the press conference; "A series of lectures will be delivered during the AEEDC 2009, with the participation of more than 70 international speakers specialised in Dentistry. Endodontics, General Practitioners, Dental Students, Interns, Residents and Pedodontics will have the chance to attend and benefit from these lectures, in addition to the opportunity to meet the lecturers themselves during the three days Conference from the 10th until the 12th of March 2009."

Dr. Al Malik continues; "In 2009, AEEDC will take a major shift in its focus, as we are including topics usually not covered in our previous conferences, topics such as Para-dental professions and business aspects of dentistry. We are also showing our support to the dental education community by starting for the first time, the AEEDC dental knowledge competition, for the undergraduate dental students of the Middle East region. With the honorary title of AEEDC Champion awarded to the winning school."

Throughout the years 'AEEDC Dubai Conference' and the Dubai World Dental Meeting - 'DWDM' had proved to be a very important platform for dentists to obtain continuing Medical Education Credit Hours, and due to the high value presented in the lectures, the conference gained accreditation form prestigious scientific organisations such as the Continuing Education Dept. of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Government of Dubai, CME/PD Administration of the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties and Continuing Education Department of the Harvard Medical School.

The exhibition also includes a signing of an exclusive agreement between AEEDC Dubai and the World Dental Federation FDI attended by Dr. Burton Conrod, the FDI president, this agreement will announce AEEDC Dubai as the only global event recognized in the Middle East and North Africa and West Asia by the World Dental Federation. In addition, the World Federation for Laser Dentistry will announce the launch of the World Federation for Laser Dentistry Congress - Dubai 2010 Congress, which will be held in Dubai and in conjunction with AEEDC Dubai 2010 held from 9th - 11th march.
