Thales draws on its knowledge and experience in defense and global security

Given the ongoing convergence between defense and global security in today's world, Thales's division dedicated to security solutions and Services is drawing on its knowledge and experience in both sectors to form a clear strategy for its business, customers and markets in the UAE and GCC region.

During the press conference by Thales held at IDEX 2009 on the February 23, Michelangelo Neri, Thales's Division Country and Integration Center Director, illustrated the company's positioning and commitment to providing solutions for global and civil security, reflecting both worldwide trends and market requirements.

"Thales is meeting the growing need for new solutions and technologies to allow organisations and governments to safeguard their operations and citizens, by positioning itself as both a security and safety provider for mission critical systems, as well as a strong value-added systems integrator,"


said Michelangelo Neri.

"We provide a range of mission critical solutions in security and safety, with our main competencies for the GCC region focused on ground transportation, critical infrastructure, government and industry & finance applications."

"Transit competencies include rail signalling, supervision, communication and fare collection, while for critical infrastructures such as airports and energy installations, our capabilities extend to security management of both assets and people in sensitive sites. Governments can benefit from digital ID and cyber protection, large urban security and encryption, while in the industry and finance sector, Thales can provide training, simulation and encryption.
