Founded in 1967 in Bologna, Italy Stefan Hafner has since won numerous couture jewellery awards for the inherent lightness of his creations often hailed as 'jewels of joy'. In his new Chic Chic collection the designer blends the beauty of a pearl's natural elegance and round shape with diamonds of various cuts such as pear-shaped and marquise in white gold settings. The sumptuousness of pearls is perfectly balanced by diamonds of different cuts to present a striking assembly of jewels.

Take for instance its riveting drop earrings featuring a very interesting floral feature where round, pear and marquise shaped diamonds cluster together to form a six-petalled blossom sprouting amidst a rich foliage of leaves, from which drops a sequence of four pearls in gradually increasing sizes. It's a definite red carpet staple designed to steal the show anywhere.

In his next jewel Stefan Hafner displays his magical touch on a timeless classic - the pearl strand. An awesome, opulent piece bringing together three pearl strands held by a diamond-studded clasp, it's a carefully assembled work of patience and precision where the designer plays with his imagination and the viewer's. In each of these pearl strands he places his floral signature motif rich in diamonds as a pendant and on either side of it 'strings' pearls in the traditional manner where a central large pearl is skirted on either side by smaller pearls. What leaves one amazed is that in each of these strands, Hafner places the diamond pendant at different points to offer a visually engrossing jewel.
