Abu Dhabi continues unabated with urban and outdoor landscaping projects

The 'Plan Abu Dhabi 2030' which was introduced last year ensures that landscaping development in the emirates continues, and plans for a national park with both green and sand belts. The Government has introduced the 'Green Gradient' concept, ensuring green development throughout the emirate in increasing levels.

This provides a solid platform for business to be conducted at the second edition of the Gulf Landscaping exhibition, running from the 9th - 10th November at ADNEC in Abu Dhabi, says Fallon Mendonca, Show Manager at UBMi UAE, organizers of the exhibition.

"The event is designed to generate business leads for companies in the landscaping business, and serves as a sourcing platform and networking event for the regions landscape architects, developers, contractors and other key buyers. The continuation of urban and outdoor development in the capital reflects the resilience of the Abu Dhabi market"

Current developments include the Bawabat Al Sharq project, a Baniyas Investment and Developments Company development which incorporates a nursery, international school, medical centre, health club and specialty training clubs and spread over 108 hectares of land.

Abu Dhabi Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC) is undertaking an urban redevelopment project of the Al Bateen District developing this area into a waterfront destination including a 5-star hotel complex.

The TDIC funded Construction Village in Saadiyat Island is due to open soon which will support the construction for the island's Louvre, Guggenheim and National museums.

Abu Dhabi National Hotels (ADNH) announced recently that all of their developments are going ahead as planned, including the construction of the JW Marriott resort and spa. Landscaping and construction of the water canals for this project is due to commence within the next few months. Spread over a 210,000 sq meter complex, the Venetian-themed resort also features a vast water lagoon.

The Gulf Landscaping event will be co-located with Working Buildings Middle East incorporating Fit-Out Middle East to enable those involved in the development and delivery of this major growth industry to meet their landscaping and outdoor architecture needs in one visit.
