Hybu Cig Cymru - Meat Promotion Wales (HCC) is the industry-led organisation responsible for the development, promotion and marketing of Welsh red meat.

HCC aims to improve quality, increase cost-effectiveness and add value to red meat products across the whole supply chain in Wales. This is achieved by providing information as well as advancing and promoting the use of technology within the industry.

HCC is active in many important markets within Europe: developing and strengthening business opportunities for red meat exporters from Wales. At home, HCC works with retailers, farmers markets and foodservice operators, undertaking regular promotional programmes for Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) Welsh Lamb and Welsh Beef.

About International Business Wales (IBW):

The Welsh Assembly Government is a democratically elected body, which was established in May 1999. It has devolved powers and responsibilities for developing and implementing policies in Wales on a broad range of issues, including economic development, education, the environment, agriculture, housing, roads and transport.

The Welsh Assembly works closely with the UK Parliament in developing primary legislation and has powers to introduce secondary legislation of its own.

The Welsh Assembly Government recognises that the development of improved international trading performance is key to improving the prosperity of the nation. The development and maintenance of economic strength, will contribute to the wider aims of marketing Wales as a world class business location, and as a destination for tourists.
