Doha Natural Gas Conference and Exhibition underlines strength of Qatari economy

Highlighting the continued strength of the Qatari economy and the country's energy sector, a record number of exhibitors, delegates and multinational sponsors will participate in the 7th Doha Natural Gas Conference and Exhibition (DNGCE) from 9 to 12 March, organizer Qatar Expo announced at a press conference.

Under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, the 4-day DNGCE exhibition in 15,000 sq m across 6 halls at the Doha Exhibition Center complements the 3-day DNGCE Conference organized by Qatar Petroleum at the Doha Sheraton Hotel & Resort, to be inaugurated by HH The Emir.

The DNGCE Exhibition will be inaugurated by HH Abdullah Bin Hamad Al-Attiyah, Deputy Prime Minister of Qatar and Minister of Energy and Industry.

"The success of 6th DNGCE in 2007 gave the event extra credibility and also gave us the motivation to create an even bigger, better event in 2009," says Qatar Expo Acting CEO, Karim Zarka. "DNGCE brings together key decision makers and professionals to showcase the latest in technologies, products, services and trends across the natural gas industry."

Qatar Expo, the country's first event management company, also revealed the event has the support of six high-profile multinational companies as DNGCE Sponsors. Exxon Mobil will be the premier Platinum Sponsor, followed by Gold Sponsors Chevron and Shell and Silver Sponsor Total E&P, with Dolphin Energy as Internet & Media Center Sponsor, QIB as Strategic Bank Sponsor and Doha Industrial Safety Services as official Safety Sponsor.

"The 7th Doha Conference on Natural Gas will once again bring the gas world together in Qatar to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing the industry," says Zarka. "Over the past decade it has become established as the most important industry event providing a forum for key players to interact. Working with DNGCE Conference organizer Qatar Petroleum, we have grasped the opportunity to improve the quality and number of participating exhibitors for DNGCE 2009."

A record 100+ exhibitors from 20 countries will travel to Doha including U.S., U.K., China, Austria, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, U.A.E., Singapore, Germany and Denmark to showcase the latest energy sector products and services, alongside every major Qatari energy company and the region's energy media.

"The exhibition's growth indicates the huge growth and continued strength of the natural gas industry in Qatar," added Zarka. "Representatives from major multinational energy sector companies, Government Officials, traders, manufacturers, energy project finance companies and technical consulting experts will converge to debate, discuss and evaluate prospects and challenges."

Already 95% of the DNGCE Exhibition space is already sold out and only a handful of sponsorship opportunities remain.
