Abu Dhabi Distribution Company forms strategic alliance with Dubai Quality Group

Abu Dhabi Distribution Company (ADDC) has teamed up with Dubai Duality Group (DQG), to boost its quality-oriented initiatives through DQG's wide array of resources and network affiliations, according to Eng. Ahmed Al Muraikhi, ADDC's General Manager.
"We are committed to continue upgrading programs and adopting new technologies to improve the quality of basic utility services offered to the public, while focusing on further improving the quality of our services. Our partnership with DQG is a significant step towards achieving our ultimate goals," said Al Mureikhi.
ADDC aims to apply new development strategies and focuses on delivering safe, efficient, cost-effective and sustainable utility services in Abu Dhabi and the Western Region and the Eastern Region Excluding Al Ain.
ADDC has won the 'Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award' 2007 in the Services Field, in recognition of its outstanding and excellent services.
On his part, Dr. Wafi Dawood, Board chairman of DQG said, "Dubai Quality Group is fully aware of the critical role played by Abu Dhabi Distribution Company in the development of the entire society as water and electricity are vital utilities that must be managed carefully and responsibly. DQG will support in incorporating quality-oriented measures and techniques in all areas of the organisation and ensure the highest level of quality and excellence in the distribution of water and electricity to the public."
ADDC's strategic objectives have also been developed in line with the five-year Strategic Plan unveiled last year by the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADWEA) with a full support by the chairman H. H. Shaikh Diab Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the plan focuses on delivering safe, efficient, cost-effective and sustainable utility services. In addition, the Distribution Company's strategy also aims to upgrade the professional skills and personality of its employees in line with the company's corporate social responsibility program; supplementary trainings and courses.
In addition, many career- enhancement opportunities have been created to help improve the performance and skills of employees.
Established in 1998 to handle the distribution of water and electricity to consumers in Abu Dhabi and the Western Region, ADDC comprises several departments and divisions that coordinate with each other to ensure a smooth delivery of basic utility services to the public. The Distribution Company is also in charge of development, maintenance and operation of safe, secure and cost-effective water and electricity distribution systems.
ADDC's responsibilities include establishing, developing and reconsidering policies in distributing water and electricity and procedures governing cost-effective distribution services; providing best services to consumers through customer service orientation and utilisation of best billing payment alternatives; operating and developing distribution networks, starting from production sources to consumers; and executing extension and augmentation projects to satisfy the mounting residential, agricultural and industrial demand for water and electricity.
DQG has been the premier driving force behind a countrywide initiative to improve the UAE's business environment through enhanced quality standards.
