Studywiz Mobile Games debut at GESS 2009
- United Arab Emirates: Saturday, February 28 - 2009 at 11:21
- PRESS RELEASE
Innovation in mobile learning is the focus of stand 420 at GESS 2009, held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, where Studywiz will be unveiling its new educational mobile games concept.
Since launching Studywiz Mobile last year, Studywiz is now the only Becta approved learning platform with a dedicated mobile learning interface for mobile devices including iPhone, iPod Touch, EeePC and Nokia N800. The games are the latest development to the newly optimised Studywiz Mobile interface.
Studywiz Mobile Games allow students to learn in an environment they can relate to, and in a medium with which they are familiar. The game results can be automatically fed back into assessment and reporting modules within the Studywiz learning platform and students can benefit from instant feedback and self assessment.
Thomas Hennessy, Vice President International Schools, Etech Group commented, "Studywiz Mobile is providing learners with a new level of interactive involvement with the educational games. The game concepts will be on show for the first time at GESS 09 and will signal a new way of learning through handheld devices. Getting learners involved and engaged in their education and providing them with resources that they can relate to, is the key to raising standards in education."
"GESS 2009 and the Global Education Forum are providing educational professionals from across the Middle East with the opportunity to discover the latest ways that technology can positively impact education. We know that visitors to Etech's stand at GESS will be excited by the Studywiz product and its implications for enhanced mobile learning," said Sue Rothwell, Group Event Director of Fairs & Exhibitions who organise the events.
Used in over 26 countries worldwide, Etech is the only supplier of learning platforms with a global presence and a proven track record in large scale deployment of (VLEs), including supporting the world's largest one to one laptop program in the State of Maine, USA, and largest eLearning deployment in the UK at Hampshire County Council.
The Global Education Forum and Gulf Educational Supplies and Solutions, held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai and with the support of the Emirates Foundation, will be held from March 10-12 at the Airport Expo Dubai.
