Pam Wilby, General Manager of Grosvenor House Dubai and Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort and Spa, commented:
"The appointment of Garry Hollihead comes as an excellent boost for our restaurant credentials and we are thrilled to have him overseeing the restaurants at Grosvenor House."
"Garry has extensive experience in the industry and brings with him a strong and passionate philosophy about food and restaurant hospitality which will add to our guest promise; to maintain excellence in everything we do," Wilby added.
Kick-starting his career as an apprentice to the renowned chef Anton Edelman at Grosvenor House London, Hollihead quickly progressed through the culinary ranks with stints at the opulent Savoy Hotel, London and as head chef and partner of Sutherland's restaurant in Soho, where he earned his first Michelin Star. Hollihead later lent his talents to the highly acclaimed L'escargot and La Savours restaurants in London elevating them to Michelin-starred establishments.
"Having worked with several award winning restaurants in the past, I am both excited and honoured to be part of the family, helping to look after one of the most highly esteemed hotels in the Middle East," stated Garry Hollihead.
"The decision to join as executive chef brings with it an exciting set of challenges and I am eager to immerse myself in this new role in the coming months. I look forward to supporting the hotel in its quest to be the very best that Dubai has to offer," added Wilby.
Hollihead's appointment adds to the already glowing line up of celebrity chefs at the hotel. Grosvenor House is home to Michelin starred chef Gary Rhodes' Rhodes Mezzanine, offering diners the best in modern British cuisine. Also located at Grosvenor House is the first Indian Michelin starred chef Vineet Bhatia's Indego where guests can sample the traditional intrinsic flavours of India served in a contemporary style.
