As part of its efforts at addressing major cultural and media issues in the Arab world, Dubai Press Club is hosting on March 3, 2009 a book launch event in which two Arab novelists and one academic from Jordan, Lebanon and Libya respectively, will sign their new books.

The event will begin with the signing of "The River Will Never Separate me From you" by the Jordanian novelist Ismail Al Rawashida, who is the head of the Arab News Agencies Union (WANA) and General Manager of the Jordanian news agency 'Petra.' A winner of the Naguib Mahfouz Prize for the novel in 1994, Al Rawashida is the author of several books and is a regular contributor to Al Rai' newspaper in Jordan.

The second novel to be honored during the event is "Do Not Ask Me...His name My Friend" by the Lebanese writer Dr. Tariq Al Bakri, who is a professor of Children's Literature at the Arab Open University in Kuwait. He has a number of fictional and other works to his credit and has been translated into many languages.

The third book to be honored is "An Introduction to Specialized Media: A Theoretical and Applied Study" by the Libyan academic Dr. Mohammed Al Fituri, who has to his credit many articles in politics and the media published in leading Arabic and French publications.

The event will also include an opportunity to engage the three writers in a Q&A session. This is the first time the Club is hosting a signing ceremony for three different authors in one single session.
