  • PRESS RELEASE

During its second successive participation at the Middle East Franchising Exhibition 2009 which is being held at Dubai International Exhibitions and Conferences Center, Emirates General Petroleum Corporation "Emarat" revealed its new trade mark "Fresh Plus".

"Fresh Plus" is a modern and innovative chain of convenience stores which can be considered a creative leap in the concept of modern shopping, providing atmospheres of comfort and luxury, with emphasis on value and quality.

Dr. Rahma bin Mohammed Al Shamsi, Retail Sales Manager at the Corporation, stressed that "Fresh Plus" embodies Emarat's policy which continuously seeks to create services that distinguish it from other competitors, through its ongoing efforts to satisfy customers' expectations, and its endeavors to provide them with comfort and quick quality service offered by carefully selected staff members.

Dr. Al Shamsi added that Emarat considers the Middle East Franchising Exhibition a valuable opportunity to introduce Fresh Plus stores, in addition to Emarat's other trade marks, such as Bakeria, and to promote these names in a way that serves the Corporation's goals and achieve the expansion it seeks. Furthermore, he said:
"such exhibitions and fairs provide franchise owners with unique opportunities to exchange expertise, adopt good ideas, promote their products and services, and explore ways to further develop their businesses regionally, in addition to establishing their existence in the local and regional markets."

Fresh Plus stores will be established in carefully chosen locations, distinguished by their environment. These stores will be independent of the service stations, and they will be close to high population communities.

Dr. Al Shamsi further declared that the stores will boast modern designs, and they will provide friendly and fun environment for the shoppers, in addition to the large range of high quality products. "Fresh Plus" concept and trademark is currently available for franchising.

On the other hand, Mr. Darren Smith, Manager, Retail Marketing Support emphasised that "Fresh Plus" has joined Emarat chain of trademarks. Emarat has a long experience in the field of highly distinguished innovative services and products.

Emarat opened its first modern convenience store in 1996; which represented a true leap forward for convenience stores in the Middle East. This store provided a modern clean shopping environment with many innovative features.

In 2004 Emarat worked closely with a design company using sales data and customer research to develop the "Emarat Plus" convenience store that first opened in 2005. The stop showed a clear shift towards a customer's centric design with emphasis on fresh foods. Further more the stores provide a bright friendly environment with the emphasis on providing added value through customer service and a product range that reflects customer requirements.

Fresh Plus is a further development of Emarat Plus; Emarat decided that the expertise gained at service stations could improve customer's life at other locations, by providing a modern convenience store offer that helped people cope with the fast paced life.
