Within the pages of this cookbook lie 30 original Emirati recipes perfected by the award-winning DWTC hospitality team, who recently won the largest number of medals in the five-star hotel category in the Salon Culinaire competition at Gulfood.
Mohammed Al Jumairi, Director of Hospitality, Dubai World Trade Centre, said:
"Our passion for food is reflected in each of these 30 recipes. It's a collection that marks culinary excellence, an inherent value we strive to uphold year after year."
The book is an interesting read that highlights culinary variety with its wide range of recipes - from a spicy seasoning to classic Emirati dishes and traditional sweets. Interesting facts, historical information and food customs offer readers morsels of added knowledge not found in conventional cookbooks.
In addition, the reader gets to sample stories on the Emirate's rich heritage, time-honoured traditions and vibrant food culture. The book pays tribute to the Emirati way of life from the times of the Bedouin through to modern-day Dubai. Notably a feast for the eye as well, the book is interspersed with gorgeous photographs of the city's landscape and delectable portraits of Arabic cuisine.
"We are proud of this 30th anniversary book honouring Emirati tradition and hospitality- a tribute to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai for his visionary leadership and support. Under his higher vision for Dubai, we look forward to emulating this growth and success over the next thirty years as we continue to move forward with our vision to make Dubai the world's leading destination for all major exhibitions, conferences and events - providing better experiences that deliver 'Destination Dubai' to every visitor," said Helal Saeed Almarri, CEO, Dubai World Trade Centre.
The unveiling of the book took place in the Emirates Airlines International Festival of Literature this past week. The 108 page hardcover book will soon be available in major bookstores across the UAE including Magrudy's, Virgin, Borders, Kinokuniya and Dubai Duty Free.
