Lloyds TSB Middle East only bank to win three awards at EIBFS at Sharjah Careers Fair

Lloyds TSB Middle East, part of one of the World's largest banking groups has been awarded three awards by Emirates Institute of Banking and Finance Studies (EIBFS) at the Sharjah Career Fair.

The bank, who also recently received the Tanmia Emiratisation Award, announced their intention to increase their Emiratisation percentage from 35% in 2008 to 39% by the end of 2009.

The awards, which included, the 'Human Resources Development Award 2009', the 'Emiratisation CEO of the year' and the 'Emiratisation Manager' were presented to Lloyds TSB ME by His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, ruler of Sharjah. Lloyds TSB Middle East was the only bank to take home three awards for 2009.

Bert de Ruiter, Managing Director of Lloyds TSB Group Middle East and winner of the best 'Emiratisation CEO' award, said:

The prestigious awards follow the successful graduation of 59 Emiratis from the Bank's 2008 Undergraduate Development Programme (UDP) under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed Bin Maktoum Bin Jumaa Al Maktoum.

The Bank has recently launched the 2009 UDP) which has seen an increase in numbers of Emirati's enrolling, compared to 2008. Topics covered under the programme will include an Introduction to Banking, Life skills and Corporate Social Responsibility.

Each Saturday, the students will learn through exercises, activities and interactive presentations. The Introduction to Banking days will be delivered by Lloyds TSB Middle East's business units giving the Undergraduate Trainees an understanding of how the business works and what the teams within the bank do.
