During Cabsat 2009, the HD service showcased feature content from Live ADMC's production and facilities company, with footage of football matches from Etisalat League.
Humaid Rashid Sahoo, CEO, E-Vision, said:
"The launch of the HD service is a significant milestone for us and will allow our customers to experience and enjoy all the benefits that High Definition represents such as image quality and great sound effects."
He added, "We are working on expanding our HD content base even further and look forward to delighting our discerning customer base with additional HD content in the coming months."
In a related development, E-Vision also announced the launch of a Personal Video Recorder (PVR) functionality for the HD set top box. With E-Vision's (PVR), viewers can pause live TV, digitally rewind to a program they've just missed, or record their favorite programs. The set top box will enable viewers to record up to 200 hours of content to be viewed at leisure.
During the first day, E-Vision officially launched the "Videoclub" which is the first ever Video on Demand service in the UAE. E-Vision is also showcasing a number of services during its participation in CABSAT including the Electronic Prgramme Guide (EPG) hence viewers can now decide and plan what to watch on E-Vision platform well in advance.
