Leo Burnett's client wins 'Advertiser of the Year'

Before the Dubai Lynx Festival has even begun, organisers have awarded Melody Entertainment Advertiser of the Year Award.

The media and entertainment conglomerate was presented the inaugural award for embracing and encouraging the creative work produced by its agency, namely Leo Burnett Cairo.

This is one of two new awards Dubai Lynx has introduced for 2009 and it will be presented to advertisers who have distinguished themselves for inspiring innovative marketing of their products and who embrace the big ideas presented to them by their agency.

It adds to an impressive tally of awards for the Leo Burnett / Melody Entertainment partnership, having already won the festival's Grand Prix in 2007 and 2008 as well as two silver trophies, all in the TV and Cinema category.

Speaking about the awards, Mr Gamal Marwan, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Melody Entertainment Ltd., said, "It is a privilege for us to be acknowledged by such a prestigious award. We have always prided ourselves on the creative freedom we apply to our products in general, but to be acknowledged for this is an honor as well as an indication that our efforts have not gone unrewarded. It is also an indication that the relation between the client and the advertising agency is integral to delivering the message to the viewer who has become a very demanding and educated critic."

Gamal Marwan will be present at the Dubai Lynx Festival to collect the award during the ceremony on 17th March.
