The press conference was inaugurated by Ms. Al Lamki welcoming speech stating
"I would like to welcome you on behalf of her Excellency Ms. Noura Khalifa Al Swaidi Head of the Union. We are always eager to diversify our activities. Driven by that objective, this colloquium comes to tie links with associations of intellectual dialogue, and cultural enrichment"
Dr. Al Ma'aytah remarked that the union is keen on cooperating with educational institution especially Sorbonne, the French worldly renowned institution.
Dr. Douaire added: "This colloquium comes within the framework of introducing cities and its history. It is our ultimate pleasure to be hosted by the union and to receive the very generous patronage from Um Al Imarat. One of the missions of PSUAD is to take part in the great cultural governmental development of the emirate of Abu Dhabi. Therefore, PSUAD proudly announces the gathering of 20 scholars or researchers from different universities in Europe, Middle East, Maghreb, black Africa, Argentina, etc, who will speak and exchange perspectives on the literary visions of the cities. Speeches will be focused on many cities from Paris, to Casablanca, and from Moscow to Dubai, and to Tehran. Invitation is open to all intellectuals, university professors, students, and interested members of the public. Lectures last up to 20 or 25 minutes, followed by discussion break." Dr. Douaire concluded that she hopes the UAE writers will attend to create that exchange in perspectives and to spread the knowledge of the local literature.
