Mr. Navani said:
"Contrary to conventional wisdom, the recent 66% fall in the oil price has not led to a noticeable reduction in work boat activity in the Middle East."

"Most of the oil and gas producers in the Arabian Gulf region are still highly profitable even at today's currently low oil prices," Mr Navani said. "They are still investing heavily in exploration, development and production, all of which activities require extensive marine support."

"This means that offshore service vessels, tugs, floating cranes, barges and work boats of all kinds are still in very big demand," he stated.

Further, many recent developments in the residential, tourism and military sectors have created a big demand for floating plant, work boats, ferries, water taxis and patrol boats," Mr Navani explained.

Work Boat Gulf, with its 80 plus international exhibiting companies, will show regional work boat owners and operators the latest developments in vessels, equipment and services applicable to their sector. It will provide a first rate meeting place at which to meet, greet and network with other industry participants and to learn about useful new developments in the industry.
