David Taylor encouraged students to be more engaged and contribute, confirming that their opinions and actions were important in moving forward.
David Taylor, world renowned as The Naked Leader, unlocked the potential of more than 100 students at American University of Sharjah, while talking to them about the fundamentals of self development and what it will take to be an effective leader in the future.

Taylor was in the UAE as part of Bidaya, the education and leadership programme from Zabeel Investments and Nakheel.

Taylor's 'Leadership from a different perspective - Yours' session ran through how to realise potential, changing areas of life, building rapport, removing doubt, as well as the seven key skills of modern leadership.

Amina Taher, Founder of Bidaya, said:
"David Taylor is world renowned for his approach to leadership, and in unlocking that potential in others. As part of our mission with Bidaya, we are looking to nurture the next generation of business and professional leaders, through the education and leadership programme, however, given that Bidaya can be a force for good for all students, we felt that opening this opportunity to American University of Sharjah, University of Sharjah and the Higher Colleges of Technology would allow more future leaders to benefit from his knowledge."

Saeed M. Al Shamsi, Director of Public Relations at American University of Sharjah, commented, "We aim to bridge the divide between the academic and the practical, with a holistic approach to learning. As a founding education partner in the Bidaya programme, we are only too pleased to support opportunities of this kind at the University, especially when we can include other members of the student body."

David Taylor has 25 year's real business and leadership experience, and now works with the very top leaders from all over the world. His clients include Tesco, BP, Procter & Gamble, Eon, Gamestation, Coca-Cola and The Royal Bank of Scotland. He is the author of the global best-selling Naked Leader books, the Honorary Professor of Leadership at Warwick University Business School and the first Business Ambassador for The Prince's Trust.

"Bidaya is an amazing programme, which is providing real life experience, as well as academic support to students. My experience here and with other programmes demonstrates how important it is to give students the benefit of real world knowledge, coupled with academic excellence. Our future leaders will benefit from the right balance of theory and practice, and taking in to account the current global crisis, its time for a fresh approach to the development of economies and the conduct of business."

David Taylor has given success a universal structure - it is proven to work with people, teams and organisations from all countries, cultures and backgrounds, while his no nonsense approach removes the hyperbole, jargon and mystery that surrounds business coaching, making is accessible and relevant to all.

Bidaya student, Abdalla Ali Al Naqbi, said, "It was a magnificent day, I felt really involved and Mr. Taylor encouraged our input and opinion."

Mouza Abdelkarim Al Shamsi added, "He really captures the imagination. He makes it clear that it is up to you to make things happen for yourself, and that we should treat ourselves the way we treat others."

By taking the very best thinking in leadership, psychology and business achievement, then improving on it, Taylor unlocks the unlimited natural potential within people, enabling them, their teams and ultimately, their organisations to be the very best.

"Being able to offer our students the opportunities to meet and learn from masters of business, community and development, they will benefit them in the long run. The Bidaya programme has been designed to provide values and development in line with the UAE 2015 strategy, utilizing the best local and international talent to augment their development," concluded Amina Taher.
