Department of Municipal Affairs receives high level delegation from Singapore

H.E. Rashed Mubarak Al Hajeri Chairman of the Department of Municipal Affairs (DMA), received at DMA senior level delegation from Singapore led by Tan Yong Soon, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of National Development.
HE Al Hajeri assured that the government of Abu Dhabi is proceeding with its plans and strategic initiatives without any delays as per the previously set plan and is working towards realising its vision according to its agenda.
The Singapore delegation highlighted the national housing program and its unique experience in solving housing issues and challenges in Singapore. They also highlighted the strategic urban planning concepts and the integration of the government with all sectors in the society as one team working towards achieving one objective.
Al Hajeri emphasised on the importance of continuous cooperation between Abu Dhabi and Singapore in human resource development, and execution of executive leadership programs, research and total planning.
This visit comes inline with the mutual cooperation agreement signed by Singapore and Abu Dhabi. Also greeting the delegation was HE Ahmed Al Shareef, Undersecretary of DMA.

About Department of Municipal Affairs:The Department of Municipal Affairs (DMA) commenced operations in May 2007, following the Abu Dhabi Executive Council's decision to integrate the Emirate's municipal system. As a new government entity, the Department of Municipal Affairs was created to lead, coordinate and oversee three municipalities in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Western Region. The DMA has a regulatory role while the service delivery and operations are at the municipality level.
On the 5th of May 2008, the Department of Municipal Affairs along with the Abu Dhabi Municipality, Al Ain Municipality and Western Region Municipality embarked upon a new municipal services journey, with the signing of the historic Municipal Charter which aligns the DMA and three municipalities towards greater collaboration and cooperation.
