ITB is seen as an ideal platform to promote the summer fiesta abroad especially in the European market. In 2008, ITB Berlin recorded an exhibitor number of 11,147 while the number of visitors touched 177,891. With exhibitors from 180 countries, the event is the leading B2B-platform of all that the global tourism industry offers.
The DSF Office is being represented by Ibrahim Saleh, Coordinator General of DSF Office, and Mohammed Al Kamali, DSF Office Sponsorship Manager. The DSF Office's participation in ITB last year was a huge success and with an aggressive marketing strategy for DSS planned this year, the Office is looking to promote the region's leading summer event to a much larger global audience. The participation gains even more significance in view of the current global economic crisis.
"The participation this year has a special significance as it comes as part of the overall direction of the government and private entities in Dubai to unite all efforts towards sustaining the position of the city as a year-round leading tourism and commerce destination," said Ibrahim Saleh.
"Despite the current global circumstances, we are confident that Dubai has the tourism potential and the state-of-the-art infrastructure to keep it among the leading cities in the global tourism arena and it is based on this confidence that we've laid plans for the upcoming DSS 2009,"
he added.
Shopping offers and promotions in the 40 shopping malls in Dubai and the entertainment venues like Modhesh Fun City will be the focus of DSF Office's promotion through ITB.
DSS will be part of the Dubai Stand, number 22.A/104 at the venue. With the participation of industry professionals, ITB exhibitors represent the entire service spectrum of the global tourism industry.
