Friendi Mobile unveils available numbers and invites customers to pre-book

At a press conference held today Friendi Mobile, the new mobile service provider in Oman, unveiled that it is inviting customers to pre-book their preferred mobile number free of charge starting from March 9th, 2009.

Friendi Mobile is providing customers with an option to get a mobile number which is easy to remember.

Antti Arponen, CEO of Friendi Mobile:
"Mobile users prefer numbers that are easy to remember, so we wanted to give future customers the power of choice before we start selling SIM cards to general public."

"Whether it's your birthday, lucky number, favorite footballer's number, parts of your existing mobile number, or any other special number, you will hopefully find it available with Friendi Mobile, and it's free of charge. I will personally try to book a number containing my name Antti written with mobile phone keyboard, i.e. numbers 26884, hopefully nobody takes it before me!" Antti jokes.

The free of charge registration is a simple procedure. For ease and convenience, Friendi Mobile has provided two ways of pre-booking the number. Customers can log on to Friendi Mobile website from home, work or any internet cafe and book their number online anytime or they can visit any one of the following outlets and our promoters will be there to assist them:

1. Lulu Hypermarkets (Darsait, Bausher, Salalah & Sohar)
2. Muscat City Centre
3. KM Trading
4. City Cinema (Al Nasr) & Star Cinema, Ruwi
5. City Cinema, Shatti

However, Friendi Mobile does point out that availability will depend on how quick customers are to register. There is only a limited amount of numbers available, so Friendi Mobile urges users to book their numbers as soon as possible.

One such Omani resident who will be first in the queue for their Friendi Mobile number is 'Guy', Friendi Mobile's very first customer and biggest fan who will soon be seen flying the flag for the brand. A cheeky blue, orange and very cute character, Guy has the ability to speak six different languages, including Arabic, English, Malayalam, Urdu, Hindi and Bengali.

"I met Guy for the first time a long time ago. He has great ideas about relevant mobile services, so we just had to get him to be our first customer!" laughs Antti Arponen, CEO of Friendi Mobile. "Guy knows what people need and do not need, and we have taken Guy's input seriously when developing Friendi Mobile's features. Guy is a passionate user of Friendi Mobile and I'm sure he will be happy to give his friends, our customers, tips on how they can use their services to the max."
