Sakana sponsors the Tawasul camp for the elderly

Bahrain-based Sakana Holistic Housing Solutions (a 50:50 joint venture between BBK and Shamil Bank), the innovative Islamic mortgage finance provider, extended its support by sponsoring for the 2nd year running, the 4th Annual GCC Tawasul Camp.

Held under the patronage of Mr. Ahmed Mohammed Al-Banna, Chairman of the Advisory Committee of Dar Al Muharraq the event took place on Saturday, 21st February 2009 at the National Guard Camp, Sakhir and was attended by over 300 local and regional guests.

Mr. Lakshmanan, CEO of Sakana commented:

"Sakana is pleased and honored to support such a noble cause for the second year running in sponsoring charitable events that have a positive contribution to society. Our commitment to the Annual GCC Tawasul Camp and other local charitable causes is in line with our long-term objective to encourage a deep sense of care for our ageing parents who have once served and contributed to the growth of the region."


Throughout this year's event, various competitions were held bringing communities together and providing participants with opportunities to display talent working within groups. The event ended with the distribution of prizes to the winning teams.

Participating homes were Muharraq Parents Care Home, UCO Parents Care Center, Dar Al Riffa and Dar Umm Al Hassam and regional centers for the elderly.
