The MoE raids resulted in the confiscation of desktop computers loaded with pirated Microsoft Windows and Office software and 62 counterfeit CDs.

"This latest raid is further proof for counterfeiters that the UAE will not ease up on its anti-piracy campaign, and that the country intends to be known as an uncompromising enforcer of intellectual property rights protection. The MoE is working closely with BSA members like Microsoft to curb software piracy and we are confident that our sustained campaign will bring in the desired results," said Mohammed Bin Abdulaziz Alshihhi, MoE Director General.

"We completely support this enforcement action by the MoE," said Jawad Al Redha, BSA Co-Chairman in the Gulf region. "Sustained measures to tackle software piracy are vital to property intellectual property rights and the interests of the country's IT sector as a whole."
