Abdullah Al Gurg, Project Director, The Tiger Woods Dubai, and other senior management team members received the French media delegation, comprising a number of journalists representing sport, business and lifestyle publications.
The media members have travelled to Dubai in order to gain a first-hand insight into the growth of the golfing industry and its impact on the economy and tourism in the region.
During their visit to the development, the delegation toured the sprawling 55 million sq feet private residential golf community project site where work is progressing to create the world's first golf course created by Tiger Woods Design, the 18-hole Al Ruwaya Golf Club, a professionally staffed, state-of-the-art golf academy, an iconic clubhouse, a boutique hotel including a well-being spa, and a fine dining restaurant by acclaimed chef Guy Savoy.
Abdullah Al Gurg said, "The unique status of being the world's first golf course created by Tiger Woods Design generates a lot of interest in the development and we are delighted to showcase our prestigious project site to the French media. The members of the delegation were impressed by the sheer enormity and exclusivity of the development."
"Dubai is already recognized as an international golfing destination of choice and we believe The Tiger Woods Dubai will further consolidate the status of the emirate globally and among the professionals and amateurs within the golfing community," Al Gurg added.
The Tiger Woods Dubai promises to offer a unique golf experience that epitomizes excellence and reflects premium quality standards. The development continues to progress with the completion of bulk earth works and 2,243 trees already planted on the golf course and a further 6,000 in the nursery.
Grassing on the fairways of Holes 4 and 5 is complete in addition to rough shaping on all 18 holes, of which 10 have been finely shaped. Construction is also complete for the main canal and one of the lakes that will eventually contribute to incorporating over 3.3 million sq. ft. of water features into the golf course.
