Following the traditional inauguration ceremony and the ribbon-cutting, H.H Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid had a tour in the exhibition area, and explored the latest medical devices, technologies and equipments displayed by over 700 specialised companies from 65 countries, some of these latest technologies are displayed for the first time during AEEDC Dubai, especially after it has successfully been ranked fifth worldwide in dentistry and cosmetic dentistry, according to the International Dental Manufacturers.
His Highness was impressed by the annual growth that AEEDC Dubai achieves every year, and was delighted by the number of companies participating in the exhibition in addition to the number of dentists participating in the conference. He also said that this tremendous turnout reinforces the role of Dubai as a regional hub for major international companies who are looking forward to promoting their products from Dubai to the Middle East and the world. Market.
On the other hand, H.E Qadhi Saeed Al Murooshid, Director General - Dubai Health Authority assured that 20,000 doctors, participants and trade visitors are expected to participate in AEEDC Dubai from all parts of the world, and this is a proof in itself of the continuous success of AEEDC Dubai in general and also emphasizes Dubai's leading role in the exhibitions and conferences industry, as well as in trade and economy.
H.E also said
"the UAE international Dental Conference and Arab Dental exhibition is a great opportunity for all dentists and decision makers in the private and public sector, as it cater to their needs of all medical equipment and services displayed by major international companies."
Al Murooshid also reassured that the Dubai Health Authority will continue to support all medical conferences and events in the UAE and he said that "Medical conferences and exhibitions reflect good revenue on all sectors in the country, including trade and tourism. These events also help in developing the skills and capabilities of health care professionals. AEEDC Dubai is a non missing chance for UAE, Arab and international dentists to observe latest international scientific researches in Dentistry, and exchange expertise with a huge number of doctors.
H.E also added that the Dubai health Authority organises more than 12 medical conference and exhibition annually, featuring variety of specialties, in addition to a number of specialised conferences, seminars and workshops dedicated for raising doctor's efficiency and showing them latest technologies utilized in the medical field. He also said "The Dubai health Authority has developed a very qualified program to foster modern innovations and medical technologies and indorse them in hospitals, clinics, and medical centres. This goes in line with the vision of H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and H.H Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of Dubai Health Authority, in making Dubai a health care destination for everyone seeking quality health care services".
Mr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, president of Index holding - the organisers, and the Executive chairman of AEEDC Dubai said "AEEDC proved to be a premiere event and the largest of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa; it has been classified by the international Dental Manufacturers as the fifth largest conference and exhibition in the world."
He also noted that the exhibition space is 20% bigger compared to last year, covering 15000 square meter with an increase of 25% in number of exhibitors. We are also expecting more than 20,000 specialists from 113 countries to attend and participate in AEEDC 2009". He also added that "More than 700 international companies are participating in AEEDC 2009, mainly from Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Turkey, Canada, China, France, Finland, Germany, India, Iran, Italy, Japan, Korea, Pakistan, Sweden, Switzerland, UAE, United Kingdom, USA, in addition to exhibitors participating form the GGC countries and the Middle East."
Al Madani mentioned that the number of participants in AEEDC 2009 reassures the Role Dubai Place as a regional and global hub for all manufacturers of dental equipments and services. Al Madani also indicated that the region now is witnessing an increase in the number of dental clinics in specific and medical facilities and centres in general, therefore AEEDC is a great opportunity for Local service providers to promote their services and products, baring in mind that we still depend on exporting most of the medical equipments and facilities from other countries, while we have it all in the UAE , and all what they need is to promote themselves.
Dr. Nasser Malik - The Conference Chairman said "A series of lectures will be delivered during the AEEDC 2009, with the participation of more than 70 international speakers specialised in Dentistry. Endodontics, General Practitioners, Dental Students, Interns, Residents and Pedodontics will have the chance to attend and benefit from these lectures, in addition participants will gain accredited hours form prestigious international scientific organisations".
The exhibition also includes a signing of an exclusive agreement between AEEDC Dubai and the World Dental Federation FDI attended by Dr. Burton Conrod, the FDI president, this agreement will announce AEEDC Dubai as the Major global event recognized in the Middle East and North Africa and West Asia by the World Dental Federation. In addition, the World Federation for Laser Dentistry will announce the launch of the World Federation for Laser Dentistry Congress - Dubai 2010 Congress, which will be held in Dubai and in conjunction with AEEDC Dubai 2010 held from 9th - 11th march.
