Global Village opens first 'Spring Festival'

Global Village, a member of Tatweer Dubai and the leading culture and entertainment destination for families, today announced the opening of a 51-day 'Spring Festival' allowing free entry to visitors for the entire duration of the festival.

The first 'Spring Festival' will run until 1 May and witness the participation of more than 250 retailers in an outdoor 'souq' style setting, merchandising several categories of products from clothes, jewellery, accessories and gifts. In addition, the festival will host several restaurants and kiosks offerings a variety of cuisines.

Abdul Redha Ali Bin Redha, Project Director of Global Village, said:
"The Spring Festival marks a significant step forward in achieving our bigger vision of transforming the Global Village into a year-round cultural entertainment venue. It also comes as a logical extension to an already established brand that just concluded a successful 102-day run in its 13th edition."


"Over the years, Global Village has evolved into a premier regional venue seamlessly ushering in a multitude of new components. Through the Spring Festival, we aim to offer our loyal visitors and Dubai's tourists a unique and affordable shopping and entertainment experience," he added.

The entertainment events will include 50 thrilling fun fair rides, a Kite Festival on Friday 20 March, a reptile pavilion, and tents with sporting activities such as paint ball competition, archery and air rifle range in an urban design setting. A themed outlet, 'Shaabeyat Al Cartoon', will enable visitors to meet the cartoon characters in person.

Global Village received a total of 4.4 million visitors during its 13th edition that concluded on 21 February, translating to an average of 43,000 visitors per day over a span of 102 days.

Since inception in 1996, Global Village has evolved into a premier regional venue, celebrating diverse cultures, cuisine and commerce from around the world and a family destination for entertainment.
