The forum, which serves as a leading discussion platform for several organisations and government bodies specialised in education, will be held at the Rashid School for Boys, Elementary Section, in Nad Al Sheba, Dubai.

This joint forum will serve as a platform to start an ESD dialogue in the UAE and is expected to increase the awareness of local environment related issues and promote the ongoing Dubai Green Schools Initiative.

Commenting on this initiative, H.E. Fatma Al Marri, CEO of the Dubai's School Agency, said:
"Organising this forum and hosting executives and specialists in the field reflects the regional as well as the international role of the Emirate of Dubai in the field of sustainable development along with the positive interaction between the local government bodies and international entities; mainly the United Nations."

H.E. Fatma Al Marri emphasised that education is the corner stone for sustainable development. This requires continuous investment and development of both educational curriculums as well as educational environments. Furthermore, special focus needs to be provided to enhance educational government facilities, thus reach the sustainable development highlighted by the announcement of the United Nations."

The forum includes four different panel sessions, these include: The Role of the Government, Green Schools Designs, ESD Case Studies and The Way Ahead. Furthermore, the list of speakers incorporates a number of specialists including Guy Warrington, HM Consul General, British Embassy Dubai, will be among the speakers at the forum on the inaugural day.
