GMC Hospital expects 1,000 runners to participate in 2009 fun run

Race Organizer's Body and Soul Health Club and Sponsors, GMC Hospital, Ajman, are expecting 1,000 runners to take part in this years fun run.

The course along the picturesque Ajman Corniche will be closed to traffic so the competitors can enjoy the 7k and 2.6k runs.

"Our goal is to get people running and raise awareness of the importance of exercise and a healthier lifestyle."


says Rohun Beven, General Manager of Body and Soul Health Clubs.

"Too many of our youth are growing up without participating in sports and recreation and we hope to do our bit to change that" We have received tremendous support from our main Sponsors GMC Hospital Ajman and the Ajman Police and Thumbay Group.

Many of the Ajman and Sharjah schools are sending runners of all ages. We are also expecting special needs runners and there is a Corporate Race for local Companies. Race entry is free and all pre-registered runners will receive a free T shirt. All finishers will enjoy refreshments and a race certificate.

The organisors have received official letter from the ministry of education asking schools to participate and send school children.
