GMC Hospital hosts a seminar on Management of Low Back Pain at GMU Campus

The Nursing Department at GMC Hospital Ajman hosted a seminar on Management of Low Back Pain at GMU Campus on the 6th of March 2009 at GMU Campus in Ajman.
"LBP normally occurs in all types of lifestyle activities -active or sedentary and cause considerable amount of distress affecting the lifestyle," he said.
Improper techniques of lifestyle activities cause undue stress on the back. Leading an active lifestyle, proper exercise, apt lifting techniques at workplace eases the burden and reduces the occurrence of LBP said Praveen Kumar, Senior Physiotherapist GMC hospital and Senior Faculty at Gulf College of Allied Health Sciences, GMU Ajman.
Dr. Amit Chaturvedi, Assistant Professor of Orthopedics at GMC Hospital spoke about different problems of Low Back Pain, their presentation and intervention strategies.
The purpose of the seminar is to offer a common platform for professionals and nurses to exchange knowledge about various techniques and management of medical and surgical practices in the hospital. GMC Hospital Nursing Department holds monthly seminars as part of Continuing Nursing Education and Professional Development Programs initiated by the hospital.
The conference was accredited by the Ministry of Health for 4.5 CNE Hrs.
