Interiors and Buildex 2009 set for grand opening

The biggest ever edition of Interiors and Buildex, the premier event for Oman's vibrant building and construction industry, will unfold on March 16, with over 200 local and international exhibitors set to showcase a wide range of building materials, construction equipment, interior furnishings and other requirements of the industry.

Organised by Omanexpo LLC, Interiors & Buildex 2009 will be formally inaugurated on Monday by His Excellency Eng. Sultan bin Hamdoun bin Saif Al Harthy, Chairman of the Muscat Municipality, at 10:00 a.m. at the Oman International Exhibition Centre.

The international exhibition, which will run until March 18, will feature leading Omani companies that directly serve the industry as well as a host of exhibitors from more than 20 countries worldwide.

"This will be the sixth edition of Interiors & Buildex and this year's event will be the biggest ever with the participation of a record number of exhibitors who will display a wide variety of products, equipment and other construction supplies," said C.J. Paul, general manager of Omanexpo LLC, the leading organiser of trade and consumer shows in the sultanate.

Leading the list of exhibitors are major local companies, including Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles Co., Al Turki Enterprises, Dosteen Doors & Engineering Services, Kehlan Trading & Contracting, Mohammad Riaz & Partner, Muscat Electronics, Natural Stone Co., Oman Concrete Products, Oman Modern Electronics, Oman Trading Establishment, Sadolin Paints (Oman) Ltd., Services & Trade Co., Shanfari & Partners, Technique LLC, and Windows 2000. Other confirmed participants include Business & Trade, Decorstone International, Family Furniture, Innovation Building LLC, International Kitchens, MB Italian Interiors, Metal & Wood Décor Co., Stone & Marble International Co., and Teejan Furnishing.

In addition to the strong presence of local companies, Interiors & Buildex 2009 will also prominently feature the national pavilions of Turkey, Kuwait, Italy, Thailand, India and the UAE. Other international exhibitors will be coming all the way from countries like Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, Germany, Lebanon, Malaysia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, and Saudi Arabia.

The exhibition timings will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and then from 4:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Since Interiors & Buildex is a trade event, the exhibition will be open only to industry professionals and visitors over the age of 16.

Interiors & Buildex 2009 is supported by Windows 2000 as the platinum sponsor, Panorama Windows Co. and Dosteen Doors & Engineering Services LLC as the gold sponsors, and IQue as the silver sponsor. It is also supported by the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE), the Oman Society of Engineers, UK Trade & Investment, the German Industry and Commerce - Oman, Qatar and UAE, and the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Muscat.

The media sponsors include Construction Week as the official publication, Arab Construction World as the official magazine, Architecture Plus as the official architecture and design partner, and Construction World as the international official magazine. The event's media partners are the OER Dossier-Construction, Al-Maskan Magazine, Times of Oman and Al Shabiba.
