Dubai Airports to conduct emergency drill at airport
- United Arab Emirates: Saturday, March 14 - 2009 at 14:02
- PRESS RELEASE
Dubai Airports will conduct a full scale emergency drill at Dubai International on Sunday March 15, from 12 noon.
The drill will provide an opportunity to the airport's emergency response team, which includes representatives from Airside Operations, Fire and Safety, Airport Medical Services, Terminal Management, Customer Service, and Marketing and Corporate Communications, as well as Dubai Airports' strategic partners - Dubai Police, Dubai Department of Civil Defence, and Department of Health and Medical Services, to measure its emergency response preparedness. Results from the analysis of the emergency exercise will also help identify areas of improvement vis-à-vis crisis management at Dubai Airports.
To add a sense of reality to the drill, hundreds of staff have volunteered to perform as passengers and flight crew.
Dubai Airports has advised residents of the areas in the vicinity of the airport not to be alarmed if they see increased activity in the airport airside during the mock drill.
Dubai Airports will make announcements on the airport's public address system inside the terminals to ensure passengers are aware of the exercise.
