New Zealand television production capabilities in focus at Dubai Lynx

New Zealand's television production sector, globally renowned for its creative capabilities, technological superiority and work discipline, is present at this year's Dubai Lynx festival from March 15-17.

The first-ever showcase of New Zealand's television commercial industry in this regional advertising event is expected to strengthen the country's partnerships with the Gulf region's television and print sector.

Five leading television and print production companies from New Zealand are taking part in the event supported by New Zealand Trade and Enterprise. The companies will highlight the creative strategies and action plans that have led the creation of some of the world's widely-acclaimed television commercials and media campaigns.

Wayne Mikkelsen, Consul General and Trade Commissioner, commented:
"New Zealand television commercial and print media companies have been creating successful campaigns for clients across Asia, North America and Europe. The Middle East region is now witnessing unprecedented growth in the television production sector. Through their participation in Dubai Lynx, New Zealand companies are looking to form business collaborations with the region's media production industry."


One of the exhibiting New Zealand companies, Yukfoo Animation's work Sega 'Offset the Evil' Campaign recently won five Pencils at the Australian Writers and Art Directors Awards 2008 and nine Bullets at Young Guns 2008.The company also just completed a spot for the launch of Vodafone in Qatar.

New Zealand is known for remarkable achievements in digital effects and computer-generated animation capabilities for feature films such as The Lord of the Rings trilogy; The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe; and King Kong. These iconic productions are a testament to New Zealand's creative industry.
The natural splendour of the New Zealand landscape adds visual richness to the commercials.New Zealand is today recognised as a one stop shop with the best of pre-production services, production crews and post production facilities.

The participating New Zealand companies at Dubai Lynx include Batch Film Limited, Curious Film Limited, Film Construction, IDC and Yukfoo Animation Ltd - all with an international track-record in television commercials, print campaigns and creative campaigns.

All five companies will be located at the Create an Effect Stand at Sheikh Rashid Hall, Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, Sheikh Zayed Road.
